ValueNews recommended newsreaders and setup instructions

In order to begin you must make sure you have Microsoft Outlook Express. The Following instructions will not work with any other version of MicroSoft Outlook. To obtain a copy of Outlook Express contact www.microsoft.com/ie

STEP 1: Open Outlook Express.

STEP 2: Open the Tools menu on the menu bar at the top of the screen.

STEP 3: Select Accounts.

STEP 4: Select the News menu from the pop-up menu.

STEP 5: Select News from the Add menu on right side of the pop-up menu.

STEP 6: Follow the instructions in the connection wizard.

STEP 7: Enter the server in the News (NNTP) Server prompt. EX: corp-news.newsfeeds.com. Also check mark the My news server requires me to log on box.

STEP 8: This should take you to the end of the wizard, unless you had any error messages. So all you have to do now is click Finish.

STEP 9: Double click on corp-news.newsfeeds.com.

STEP 10: Click on the Server menu and check the checkbox that states This server requires me to log on, then fill in your username and password. After that, click Apply and OK.

STEP 11: Click Close to close the accounts window.

STEP 12: After you close the internet accounts box then an alert box will appear on the screen and ask you if you would like to download the news groups you just added. Click the Yes box.
